Sports documentaries always make for good viewing bait; especially if it’s on a legend like Novak Djokovic, who, at 38, still continues to dazzle on tennis courts at the top level. And, then there are celebrity podcasts, which too draw in audiences. Oprah Winfrey’s roller-coaster career makes her a good host for a podcast series.

So, Prime Video has lined up two exciting shows over the coming two months mixing sports and podcasts.

Yesterday it announced that its feature-length documentary ‘Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter’ will premiere exclusively on the streaming platform on August 20 and ‘The Oprah Podcast’ will debut from July 21 as part of a new partnership between Amazon and Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Entertainment.

Both will stream in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide where Prime Video and sister services from Amazon are available.

Directed by Jason Hehir, known for ‘The Last Dance’, the sports documentary promises unprecedented access to Djokovic and traces the story behind one of tennis’ most decorated and polarising champions.

According to the platform, the film explores the experiences and defining moments that shaped Djokovic’s career and personality.

“I’m excited for the world to see it. I’ve had the chance to work with an amazing team who have dedicated themselves to telling my story in the most authentic way, and I hope it resonates with audiences everywhere,” said @DjokerNole, as he’s popularly known in social media.

Director Hehir said the film goes beyond Djokovic’s achievements on the court to present a more personal portrait.

“This isn’t just about tennis. It’s about identity, belief, resilience and what it takes to keep going when the world thinks it has you figured out,” he added.

Presented by Prime Video Sports, the documentary is produced by Words + Pictures in association with Little Room Films, Sweet Relief and Sadoux Productions.

The film features interviews with members of Djokovic’s family, including his wife Jelena, along with tennis greats such as Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Andre Agassi and John McEnroe, besides coaches, rivals and close friends.

Oprah Podcast to Debut July 21:  Prime Video will begin streaming ‘The Oprah Podcast’ from July 21 as part of a new partnership between Amazon and Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Entertainment, with new episodes releasing twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The expanded season will feature conversations with thought leaders, bestselling authors and cultural changemakers, with upcoming guests including Ryan Leak, Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee and Ryan Holiday. Episodes will also be available across Amazon Music, Fire TV Channels and Audible, as well as YouTube and other podcast platforms.

“The Oprah Podcast” explores themes such as renewal, resilience, fulfilment and connection through conversations with public figures and everyday people on issues ranging from technology addiction and caregiving to financial health and relationships.

Special ‘Oprah’s Book Club’ episodes featuring live audience discussions with authors will also continue.

“The kind of conversations that remind us we’re not alone, and invite us to see ourselves and one another more clearly.
