Choreographer and television personality Geeta Kapur is celebrating her birthday while continuing to entertain audiences as a judge on Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’. Popularly known as ‘Geeta Maa’, she has carved a successful career in the entertainment industry as a choreographer, mentor and reality show judge.
On her birthday, Sony Entertainment Television highlighted five milestones that have shaped Geeta’s journey. She became a household name after contestants affectionately started calling her ‘Geeta Maa’, a nickname that has stayed with her over the years.
According to a SET press release, before becoming a television star, Geeta worked as a background dancer and gained recognition with her appearance in the song ‘Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aaye’ from ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. She later joined choreographer Farah Khan’s dance troupe at a young age, an experience that played a key role in shaping her career.
Geeta has been a judge on ‘India’s Best Dancer’ since its first season and continues to mentor aspiring dancers in ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’ with her expertise and guidance. She also shares a close friendship with fellow choreographers Remo D’Souza and Terence Lewis, with whom she first worked on the dance reality show Dance India Dance.
From a background dancer to one of television’s most loved dance judges, Geeta Kapur continues to inspire contestants through India’s Best Dancer Season 5, which airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
