Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will ready to launch a record of 83 satellites in one go in coming month. Its using workhorse PSLV-C37 toward the end of January.
83 satellites will launch on a single rocket , out of 83 satellies, 80 belong to Israel, Kazakhstan, the US, etc.. They weigh about 500kg. The 3 Indian satellites are Cartosat-2 series, weighing 730kg as primary payload, and INS-IA and INS-1B, weighing 30kg.
ISRO, Chairman A S Kiran Kumar said, "We are working for a January launch. It will be toward the end of January. The date has to be fixed." ISRO has been conducting the tests for hazard avoidance for Chandrayaan 2 at its facility in Challakere in Chitradurga district of Karnataka.
In June ISRO had launched 20 satellites. It was including its earth observation Cartosat-2 series and in a single mission on board PSLV-C34.
ISRO will launch at least five communication satellites in 2017.
